About SBC Legacy Partners

America’s small towns

Our vision

What We Believe

We believe America’s small towns and cities are its foundation—and the businesses that support them are worth preserving. Our vision is to invest in these locally rooted companies, keep them alive through thoughtful succession, and grow them for the long term—so the communities they serve can continue to thrive for generations.

Our Values

Guiding Principles

Our values guide everything we do—from the decisions we make to the way we work with our partners, customers, and each other. They are the foundation of who we are and what we strive to build.

Integrity

We operate with complete transparency and honesty in all our dealings. We say what we mean and do what we say.

Stewardship

We see ourselves as caretakers of the businesses we acquire, responsible for their continued success and the well-being of their employees and customers.

Humility

We listen more than we speak and recognize that the existing team knows the business best. We approach each opportunity with an open mind and a willingness to learn.

Excellence

We strive for operational excellence while maintaining the human elements that make a business special. We believe that exceptional results come from combining best practices with respect for established culture.

Our Leadership

James Souffrant

Managing Partner

SBC Legacy Partners is led by James Souffrant, a successful operator and entrepreneur committed to honoring the legacy of small business owners while building for the future. With a background leading marketing, operations and sales strategy for some of the world’s most recognized companies, James brings a hands-on approach to leadership—rooted in integrity, long-term thinking, and a deep respect for the owners and employees behind every company.

SBC Legacy Partners was founded with a vision of creating a different kind of acquisition firm—one that prioritizes long-term stewardship over short-term gains. Stepping into the chief leadership role at SBC, James’ approach combines operational expertise with a deep respect for the legacies built by business founders.

Prior to taking the helm at SBC Legacy Partners, James spent over 20 years leading business growth across the worlds top organizations by focusing on what matters most— empowering teams, improving sale strategies, and building strong customer relationships. He has led marketing, sales strategy, and operational initiatives across Apple, Clorox, and General Mills, where he has created new service offerings, expand into new markets, and optimized business operations to drive sustainable growth.

James now leads our organizational team of experienced industry professionals who bring expertise in finance, operations, marketing, and industry-specific knowledge to every acquisition opportunity that we engage in.
